Athlete Profile

Fitsok is excited to tell the stories of runners across the country and how they RUN FOR IT every day.

Where do you live? How does it affect training schedule for events?

I live in Morrison, Colorado – Which is the Mecca for multisport, great places to run and bike for miles. The area also has one of the only open water swim practice spots… Which is great! I’m very privileged to have so many good athletes around the area. With he Olympic training center so close there are a few chances to latch on to their expertise! As far as races go, there are tons of running, biking and triathlon races between June and October, which cuts down on cost and makes it easier to train.

Tell us a little about your background in running.

I grew up in Iowa. There I ran track – mostly shorter distances and long distance hurdles. At that point I ran mostly for fun and health. After college I began to get the itch to enter races of all distances, mostly because there were so many offered and it is so beautiful in Colorado!

What was the latest competition you took part in?

I ran in a Half Marathon in Orlando – a very hot and tough race. It was only my 2nd Half Ironman in over 2 years, but they are a lot of fun! I’ve been struggling with foot numbness for several months, so I was thrilled to finish the race as well as I did! I placed 5th in my age group, with a time or 5:07:36. Though I was worried about my foot, about 3 weeks ago I also did the Platte Canyon Half Marathon here in Denver. There I had a personal best! My feet went really bad at mile 10, but I still finished in 1:36….so I knew I could do the race in Orlando. If anyone is interested in Orlando 70.3…there is NO warmup on bike and swim…so bring extra shoes to get a warmup in….wish I would have had that opportunity!

My next race will be Loveland Lake2Lake in Loveland Colorado, June 26th. It’s an olympic distance triathlon with an extra long and hilly bike ride.

What about FITSOK is different from other socks you’ve worn?

I love Fitsok, they are extremely soft and supportive and different than any other I have worn. They also really hold up in the wash!
